All operations are performed locally on your device. No data is sent to any external server.
2. Data Usage
What Data is Accessed?
Biscuit only accesses cookie data from your active browser tab when you explicitly click the extension icon. This includes:
- Cookie names and values
- Domain and path information
- Expiration dates
- Security flags (Secure, HttpOnly, SameSite)
What Happens to This Data?
The cookie data is ONLY used for the following purposes:
- ✅ Displaying cookies in the extension popup
- ✅ Exporting cookies in your chosen format (JSON, Netscape, CURL)
- ✅ Copying cookies to your clipboard
- ✅ Downloading cookies as a file to your local device
3. Permissions Explained
Biscuit requests the following permissions to function properly:
🔐 cookies
Purpose: Read cookies from the current website
Usage: Only accesses cookies when you click the extension icon. Does not modify, delete, or create cookies.
🔐 tabs
Purpose: Identify the current tab URL
Usage: Only queries the active tab to show which website's cookies are being exported.
🔐 activeTab
Purpose: Access cookies from the active tab only
Usage: Ensures the extension only works on the tab you're currently viewing.
🔐 host_permissions (<all_urls>)
Purpose: Support cookie export from any website
Usage: Allows you to export cookies from any website you visit (HTTP and HTTPS).
4. No Third-Party Services
- ❌ No analytics or tracking (Google Analytics, etc.)
- ❌ No advertising networks
- ❌ No cloud storage or data synchronization
- ❌ No external APIs or servers
- ❌ No crash reporting services
5. Data Storage
Local Storage: Biscuit does not store any data persistently on your device.
Cookie Data: Cookies are read temporarily and immediately discarded after you export/copy/download them. The extension does not maintain a database of your cookies.
Exported Files: Any cookie files you download are saved to your chosen location on your device. The extension has no control over these files after export.
6. User Rights
Since Biscuit does not collect or store any data, the following rights are always available:
- ✅ Right to Stop Using: You can uninstall the extension at any time
- ✅ Right to Delete: Uninstalling removes all extension data from your browser
- ✅ Right to Export: You control what happens to exported cookie data
7. Children's Privacy
Biscuit does not collect any personal information, including from children under 13. The extension is a general-purpose developer tool and does not target children.
8. Changes to This Policy
If we update this privacy policy, we will:
- Post the new policy on this page
- Update the "Last Updated" date
- Notify users through the Chrome Web Store if changes are significant
